Fronted by David Caton, One Ton Drum is the pulse of all things magically musical and imaginative. Next time you find yourself golfing with astronauts, surfing on the ceiling, or wearing a parachute to bed, you’ll know you're bumping to the beat of One Ton Drum. One Ton Drum believes the very best songs should be safe and engaging for everyone... little and big alike. The songs are catchy and cool enough for the toughest kid critics (the key demographic is elementary age) and smart enough to keep parents on board. The live programs are specifically constructed not only to be wildly fun, but also to teach character education and push kids to reach greater heights. They accomplish this with memorable songs, humor and lots of creative interaction.
Founder and featured artist David Caton, is a skilled songwriter with experience as a nationally distributed, Ardent-Forefront (EMI) recording artist. He studied music education at Bethel University in St. Paul and toured the U.S. and Europe with the elite Bethel College Choir. David received a Dove Award nomination for his work in the gospel-rock band "Clear" and toured extensively for three years in the United States and abroad supporting two nationally distributed albums. Upon moving back to the Chicago area, he served as director of music at Harvest Bible Chapel. David spent a year pioneering 'One Ton Studios', in an effort to provide mentorship and training in the creative arts for young people in downtown Aurora. David, along with some of Chicagoland's best musicians, brings you the high-energy interactive kids rock band experience that is One Ton Drum.
